NamedLocal.
AI visibility for local trades

Someone near you just asked an AI for a contractor. Were you on the list?

When a homeowner asks ChatGPT or Google's AI for the best HVAC company, plumber, roofer, or electrician in their area, it answers with two or three names. If yours isn't one of them, you don't get the call, and nothing tells you it happened.

Check your business

Free, no account, about 20 seconds.

We ask the AI the way a customer would, then look for you. Answers shift and aren't a guarantee — this is a snapshot of what they say right now.

Get the full report

The full report shows why AI names competitors instead of you — and exactly how to climb: your Google Business Profile gap, the trusted directories citing them but not you, your website, speed and AI-crawler fixes, and one prioritized action plan. Measured rigorously across the major AI assistants, several times over — an unbiased, third-party read. Private page + PDF. $29, one time.

We'll email the questions we ran, who AI named instead, and the first on-site fixes to check. It is useful, but it does not include the competitor citation map, GBP comparison, PageSpeed data, or private report page.

How it works

One check, in plain English

Step 1

We ask like a customer

"Best roofer in Dallas," "electrician near me" — the questions people actually type into AI.

Step 2

We read the answer

We look for your business in what the AI says, and note which companies it named instead.

Step 3

You get the fixes

The reasons you're missing and what to change first. The full report names the exact sources to fix and how.

Why it matters

A page of Google links gave every business a shot at the click. An AI answer names two or three companies and stops. No ranking report, no drop in traffic you can see, no sign at all that you were skipped.

A homeowner asks, gets three names, and calls one of them. If it wasn't you, you never knew you were in the running. The check is the only way to find out where you actually stand.

Who's behind this

A small shop, not a platform

NamedLocal is a small, independent operation, not a national platform or a call center. I built the check because local businesses get skipped by AI with no warning and no dashboard to catch it. If you have us handle the fixes, you get the work done and a weekly re-check, with plain reporting and no lock-in. And if AI already names you, I'll say so. I'm not going to sell you a problem you don't have.

Questions

Straight answers

Isn't my business already in there automatically?

Being known to the AI isn't the same as being recommended. It only names a couple of companies per question and picks them on how clear and trusted your information is. Most local businesses get left out. The check shows you exactly where you land.

Can you promise I'll be the one it recommends?

No, and anyone who promises that is selling you something. The answers aren't fixed. What we do is measure where you stand, make the changes that improve your odds, and keep an eye on it so you know when things move.

Which AI are you checking?

Right now we query Perplexity's live, web-grounded AI — the kind that searches the web and names a few local companies, the same way the popular assistants do. It's a strong read on where you stand. We're adding direct checks of more assistants over time. If you also give us your website, we look at what your homepage actually exposes (structured details, Q&A content) so the reasons we give you are real, not generic.

What does it cost?

The check is free. The full report — the exact sources naming your competitors instead of you, the specific fixes, as a private page and PDF — is $29, one time. Most local businesses pay more than that for a single lead.
